Alpha Instincts Dog Training
Dog Trainers Huntsville, AL
Your local professional Huntsville K9 trainers who are passionate about training K9s. Alpha Instincts transforms dogs and families by fostering communication between owners and dogs through balanced dog-training. Our trainers are all well-equipped to handle issues from leash-pulling to aggression.
Our programs focus on obedience, as much as they do on behavioral rehabilitation. We see many dogs with great obedience skills but they are unable to maintain a calm mind or hold a command in the face of basic distractions. It is important that we and the dog can work together on these issues.
Huntsville is a city in Madison County and Limestone County, Alabama, United States, with a small portion extending into Morgan County. It is the county seat of Madison County. Located in the Appalachian region of northern Alabama, Huntsville is the most populous city proper in the state.Huntsville was founded within the Mississippi Territory in 1805 and became an incorporated town in 1811. When Alabama was admitted as a state in 1819, Huntsville was designated for a year as the first capital, before that was moved to more central settlements. The city developed across nearby hills north of the Tennessee River, adding textile mills in the late nineteenth century.

We recently wrapped up our 10-day reverse board and train with Alpha Instincts Dog Training. It was a spectacular experience. My pup and I worked with a training group previously but over time (and extended work from home), her adherence to commands became lax. This type of training leveraged our existing relationship and allowed us to not only reset but learn and be setup for continued growth. Alpha Instincts took the time to listen to my needs (changing cities, changing living situation, increased dog reactivity) and constructed a training plan that started with reinforcing the basics and ended with us training in real world situations we expect to encounter over the next few months. Having previously worked primarily with an e-collar, I learned just how motivated my pup was by a high value treat. It was clear my pup was working her brain and she welcomed some decompression time at the end of each session. The team was caring and advocated for all dogs in their care. I would feel completely comfortable sending a new/untrained dog to their traditional board and train and highly recommend those looking for a kickstart back into training to investigate their reverse board and train.
We adopted our Great Dane Yana in 2019, she’s the sweetest dog but she does not understand personal space, she also began to have behavioral issues when I wasn’t able to be close by. I reached out to Alpha to help with Yana as I knew she would flourish with some positive guidance and Rachel was so great with her. She really educated me on how to work with Yana during the session that I was confident working with her outside of the session. It’s been such a great program and has helped me build a more positive bond with my 140lb lap dog.

Vanessa was a great trainer! She did our initial eval and was our trainer for our retriever/shepherd mix for our 4 week training. Our dog loves her and the trainings really have helped. We went with Alpha because of their responsiveness on our initial inquiry, they have great customer service, and ease of use to use the calendar, setup times. Great to work with!
